awesomecakes!

i thought the intro was epic.
i thought it was an amazing remix. thank you for doing this amazing song justice!

Juresic responds:

Thank you, and you're welcome.

man, i want some chinese food...

you did a nice job of creating an eastern feel without all the pitchbend things i can tell you're not a fan of ^_^

i think the melody was powerful, but would have been nice to change it up for the slower section and made it more legato, instead of the "orchestral hit" effect it was having...maybe underneath the flute/piccolo melody in the middle section?

also....<3 for flutes and piccolos. (i'm a classically trained flautist, so i'm biased lol) if you ever need a live flute for anything, let me know:D

great effect, and well representative of china!
best of luck!

Phyrnna responds:

I can cook Chinese food for you! ^_~

Hmm, I seem to have troubles with legato strings because of my lack of good samples. x_x But I agree that the strings under the flutes could be better. :P

<3 I love the flute and the piccolo. Especially the piccolo. Such an underappreciated instrument.
And I would so <3 <3 <3 you if you were able to make live flute recordings! :D I'll keep that in mind next time I write a song with flute. I'll write you a solo part to record! :D

Thank you very much for the review! Good luck in the contest to you! ^_^ <3

this will be fun!

you did a great job as well! the intro was totally fun! and it was a very happy, dreamy feel to the song...like looking out over an ocean or something...

the only thing is the bass was a little "muddled" for me. but the shouting of "italy" was way fun, sounds like a soccer game!

can't wait for semi-finals! good luck man!
Kerrie

Airprogressive responds:

thanks 4 your review, zomgkerrie!!

Definitely, the semi-finals are going to be soo fun!

let's see what happens!!

<3 it!

i love this. i really think a heavier bass line would really drive it! but the melody is enchanting! i really think you will do awesome in the showdown! best of luck! i'm putting mine up in about half an hour. please stop by and check it out! i'm nervous as heck lol! great job!

LK412 responds:

Thanks alot! I will definitley check it out! I didnt put a bassline just cuz i wanted to stick to the theme. Thanks for the review and the 10!

i didn't have a problem with the intro. i think it was fun that it was different than what it led up to. if all music sounded the same from beg. to end it would be boring! i thought the fade in was creative!

loved the lead synth! the bass chord progression was very catchy and strong. i would have liked a little more volume on the crashes..i barely hear them and feel they could really add alot to the impact of the song.

keep it up!

DjTrancite responds:

Haha. Ok I Understand Thanks Kerrie :D

i loved teh gated intro! and at 1:00, the melody was sooo catchy! and the tone to it was nice!not too dark, not too bright. i really thought that they underlying gated pad was a nice touch. added alot to the melody. was not a huge fan at 2:00. once it built up to 2:25, it was very matrix-y---very movie badass...like someone was wearing sunglasses adn walked down a road towards a fight in slow motion...that was pretty sweet. honestly, i see that a lot of different ideas came together, and i wish you would take the first 2 mins of the song and expand on those ideas...that was my favorite part-it sounded full!

great job!

Twistedtechnology responds:

thank you for such a nice review! im glad you liked it :) Yea, at 2:00 i needed something in there to give my brain a break, and make it seem like im not trying to just drag the same idea all over the track. So i had to break it up somehow lol. Anywho, thanks again for the nice review!

powerful!

the snare in the beginning was overpowering. once the synth came in at :35-rockin! i loved the chord progression! it was powerful! and i felt the tempo was just right! i felt it needed something a little more....a pad, something....in the lower range. this has a GREAT start! the synth melody at :35 is already stuck in my head! keep it up! 4/5 and 8/10!

nightsurfermusic responds:

Well, sweet thanks! Yeah, i agree, a pad would do nicely.

amazed, as always!

what fabulous instrumentation! full sound!
Dawn of no sun- beautiful melody and movement-perfect percussion-just enough! love the french horn and clarinet!

Stars through southern lights-love the underlying piano. i would have expected a lighter sound...more with strings and flutes and bells, but that just may be my liking. the string melody is quite nice. you were very successful creating "waves" of sound that paint the picture of waves of light.

The Iceberg-this was my favorite part of the piece!!!! love the timpani on this! what a beautiful concept to paint with music! i still may have wanted a little more with percussion-to really emphasize the crashing of the huge sheets of ice just cascading down and "exploding"....

First Sunrise- still felt like i needed more "high" sounds...flutes, oboes, bells, the "twinkling" of the sun rays peering thru the clouds....but again, i play flute, i may be biased :P

overall opinion- was a well-thought out piece of art. beautiful concept, well executed! and inspiring! well deserved 5/5 and 10/10! please, continue to make such lovely music!!!!

PenguinSam responds:

OOOOH! I love those ideas! They sounds simply wonderful! I would love to add stuff like that into my music!

Only problem is, my program doesn't like Vista so much, so I have to get it upgraded before even thinking about makeing a new audio of this song.

There are some ideas that I might pass on due to the image that I saw and the mood I wish to create, but the percusion in "The Iceberg" was a huge struggle for me, so I hear that comment to so surprise!

I am so happy that you like this piece so much!

<PS>

zomg!

MAN! you are really improving with every song! this is craziness!! i <3 it!

NeonProject responds:

Wow... thatnks.
Strange thing is, I actually feel like I'm improving, loads and Loads, those Music Technology Classess must be paying off!
